Persistent bleeding lasting more than one month is a condition that should not be ignored, as it can significantly affect a woman’s quality of life. This was experienced by a 53-year-old patient of National Hospital, Mrs. Jenny Winarto, who ultimately decided to undergo surgery after identifying the underlying cause of her symptoms.
Initially, Mrs. Jenny assumed that the prolonged bleeding was a sign of menopause. Because of this, she chose to wait, expecting the condition to resolve on its own. However, over time, the bleeding did not stop and instead became increasingly concerning.

"I had been bleeding for more than a month. At first, I thought it might be menopause, so I ignored it. But it didn’t stop, and eventually the examination showed that I had a large myoma," said Mrs. Jenny Winarto.
According to the doctor’s explanation, her condition was associated with adenomyosis, a disorder in which endometrial tissue grows into the muscular wall of the uterus. This condition can cause heavier and prolonged menstrual bleeding than normal.
The patient reported that this episode of bleeding was much heavier compared to what she had experienced before. After discussing treatment options with her doctor, she decided to proceed with surgery, which was successfully performed as planned.
What brought her additional relief was the smooth and rapid recovery process. Mrs. Jenny expressed her surprise that she was already allowed to go home just one day after the procedure. After the surgery, she also reported feeling well with no further bleeding.
"Thank God, the surgery was performed at around 7:30 in the morning, and by the afternoon I was already able to go home. I feel fine now, there is no pain, and the bleeding has completely stopped," she added.
