National Hospital Surabaya, in collaboration with NalaGenetics and the Indonesian Genomics Association (AGI), Holds a Health Education Event titled “Know Your Body, Choose the Right Medicine Through Your DNA!”
The forum was held at the Ang Kang Hoo Auditorium, National Hospital Surabaya, on Monday, 8 September 2025 at 09.00 WIB.
This event highlighted the topic of Pharmacogenomics, a cutting-edge approach in precision medicine that uses DNA analysis to determine the most suitable medication for each individual.
Through this method, patients are expected to receive more effective, safer, and personalized therapy.
The keynote speaker was Dr. Ivan Rizal Sini, MD, FRANZCOG, GDRM, MMIS, Sp.OG, Chairman of the Indonesian Genomics Association (AGI) and Dean of the Faculty of Medicine, IPB University, who discussed the importance of utilizing genetic testing in the Indonesian medical field.
Other speakers included Prof. Dr. Dante Saksono Harbuwono, Sp.PD-KEMD., Ph.D., Vice Minister of Health of the Republic of Indonesia; Levana Sani, BSc, MBA, CEO and Founder of NalaGenetics; and Dr. Jordan Bakhriansyah, Sp.Jp, FIHA, Medical & Nursing General Manager of National Hospital Surabaya.
National Hospital CEO Ang Hoey Tiong stated that this launching event marked the introduction of The First Integrated Genetic Test in Indonesia, supporting the implementation of precision medicine services at National Hospital.
He added that the presence of this service at National Hospital represents a step forward in realizing precision medicine.
Pharmacogenomics plays a strategic role in transforming healthcare services in Indonesia. By utilizing individuals’ genetic information, pharmacogenomics enables medical professionals to provide more personalized and targeted therapy.
